South Tyrol > Eisack Valley
Eisack Valley in South Tyrol
Varied and full of contrasts. This is how the Eisack Valley
might be described. As one of the most beautiful holiday
areas in the province, the Valley, which stretches along the
river Eisack from the Brenner Pass to Bolzano, has plenty to
offer its guests all year round.
Be enchanted by the beauty and variety of the landscape
whilst hiking and climbing. Fairy-tale forests, lush green
alpine pastures and imposing mountain peaks all make the
hearts of enthusiastic hikers and climbers beat that little
bit faster. The stimulating tours of the summits and high
mountain
paths
as well as the majestic 3000 metre plus peaks all provide
plenty of variety. And for those who don’t want to climb
quite so high, romantic walks up to crystal clear mountain
lakes through meadows in full bloom await, or leisurely
rambles between alpine huts – a dream for every
nature-lover.
As well as numerous fabulous climbs and glacier routes, the
Eisack Valley offers its visitors a multitude of other
sports and leisure activities. The attractive range includes
rafting, canyoning, golfing or horse riding, daredevil hang
gliding and interesting bike tours.
Winter holidaymakers love this idyllic holiday area.
In the colder seasons the Valley emerges as a true winter
paradise. The snowy slopes, the many challenging tobogganing
runs and the tip-top runs in
the wonderful winter sports areas guarantee fun on the
pistes and pure enjoyment in the snow for everyone. Those
winter sports fans who prefer somewhat narrower “boards”
will find what they are looking for on the kilometre long
cross country run too.
And if you like to immerse yourself in art and culture on
your holidays, then the Eisack Valley is the place for you.
Spend a couple of hours in the various museums and follow in
the footsteps of some famous painters, builders and
sculptors – it’ll be worth your while.
